As demonstration of commitment to the existing partnership between Liberia and the People’s Republic of China, the Embassy of China to Liberia has identified with women and children.
At a reception held at the embassy in Congo Town, the Embassy through Ambassador Zhao Jianhua donated several assorted items including sewing machines, electronic fans, bags of rice, among many others.
In his remarks, Ambassador ZHAO described his country relationship with Liberia as people-centered which needed to be maintained in all aspects.
According to the Ambassador, the Asian nation was care about the affairs of women and children in Liberia, revealing that China will continue to be a reliable friend to the people of Liberia as well as a great friend to the women and children in this country.
“We’re happy to gather here today along with great women and children who are expected to the future leaders of this nation,” he said.
Ambassador ZHAO used the time to pledge his country and embassy’s support to the women and children of Liberia.
Speaking on behalf of the women and children of Liberia, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Vivian Cherue commended the Ambassador for embracing the women and children of Liberia.
Saying that they look up to China for his support, she also noted that they will count on the pledge made by the Ambassador for the empowerment of women children.
Beneficiaries of the items are Sirleaf Market Women Fund, Ever Orphanage Home, Group of 77, Concern Women for Development and Presbyterian today Mission School etc.
