The feeder club of Barrack Young Controller, BYCII is expected to pull the trigger on Sunday when she comes face to face with Sierra Leonean giants FC Johansen in the Confederation of African Football Federation continental competition.
BYC II booked qualification ticket for the CAF cup after 1-0 victory over topnotch club Watanga FC in the Liberia Football Association knockout Championship, thus making them the first lower team to get the opportunity to represent Liberia on the continent.
At a press meeting event in Monrovia, the president of the BYC Sports association Sekou Konneh said the team was not only going for the win, but also a good show of sportsmanship with their Sierra Leonean counterpart.
‘SK’ as he is affectionately called in the sporting arena said the team will break the deadlock by advancing to the next stage of the competition.
According to him, BYC sports association will go on a grand parade and move into the communities making people to know that they are part of the team.
Also in a remark, the Corporate Communication Strategist of Cellcom Kimmie Weeks expressed the GSM Company happiness of being the sponsor of BYCII CAF competition and expressed optimism that the team will bring pride to Liberians.
He revealed that their sponsorship arrangement with BYC is to empower the young people through football; and will still with the team as they go forward in the competition.
According to him, the entity’s sponsorship arrangement with the local football remains intact in order to build a vibrant national team.
