Movie Star Dismayed Over Teenage Pregnancy

A Liberian Movie Actress has expressed dismay over the sharp increase in the number of teenage pregnancies in number of teenage pregnancies in Liberia based on a latest report released by the government of Liberia through the ministry of Health and social welfare.

Producer Viviam Juludoe of the Vivian Production in Kebah, Barnesville Community, said the root causes of the increase in adolescent pregnancies is due to the lack of a comprehensive family planning and sex education among young women.

In an interview yesterday with journalists following a practice session, Actress Juludoe said poverty, and the lack of skills for employment in the formal sector of the economy is also a major contributing factor that lure young women into elicit and unprotected sex.

Actress Juludoe warned that there are social, economic as well as health implications among adolescent girls. ‘having unprotected sex leads to women and girls vulnerability to HIV/AIDS including STIs,’ producer Juludoe stressed.

Regarding immature pregnant young girls, she pointed out that there is a likelihood that more young women will die at their first childbearing of along with their babies something which poses serious concern four the youth population of females.

In her movies production, she promised to use informative and educational messages to reach young women sensitizing them on the need to understand and recognize the Importance of family planning, reproductive health and rights issues.
